Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 October 2026. These terms govern your use of BPMN Studio at bpmnstudio.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the service.

1. Who you are contracting with

BPMN Studio is operated by Emilis Mikalajūnas, an independent developer. Contact: mikalajunas.emilis@gmail.com.

The project is not affiliated with the Object Management Group, Camunda, or the similarly named tools bpmn.studio (ELMA), bpmnstudio.online, or bmate.app.

2. The service

BPMN Studio turns a plain-language description of a business process into a BPMN 2.0 diagram using large language models, and lets you edit and export the result. The wizard you chat with is an AI model, not a person. The service is provided as-is and evolves continuously; features may be added, changed or removed.

3. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old. You can look around the editor without an account, but AI generation and saving need a free account.

4. Plans, billing and cancellation

Free Pro trial - a new account gets Pro for 7 days, free, with no card and no contract: up to 375 credits in total. The trial ends after 7 days, or earlier if its credits are used up, and the account moves to Free on its own. Nothing is charged, and nothing renews into a paid plan. One trial per person.
Free - 50 credits every 30 days (the allowance refills 30 days after the first request of the previous window), with no 5-hour limit; no card required. Some features are Pro only: the full AI review, process documents, inviting editors, adding workspace rules, and version history older than 7 days. Nothing you made is deleted when you move to Free.
Pro - €11.99 per month; 375 credits per week, at most 125 per 5 hours.
Max - €19.99 per month; 675 credits per week, at most 225 per 5 hours.

Credits measure AI usage: each request uses credits in proportion to its size. No plan is unlimited, and we may adjust limits with notice.

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are in EUR and are the final price you pay, including any applicable taxes. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice, effective from your next billing period; if you don't accept a change, you can cancel before it applies.

Cancel any time from Settings → Usage → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; you keep access until then. Apart from withdrawal (below), we do not pro-rate partial months.

Non-payment. If a payment fails, we may suspend access to paid features until it is resolved.

5. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

If you are a consumer in the EU, you can withdraw from a new subscription within 14 days of starting it, without giving any reason.

How: use the "Withdraw from contract here" button in Settings → Usage, which is shown throughout those 14 days, or email us a clear statement that you are withdrawing. Withdrawal through the button is confirmed on screen straight away, and the subscription ends at once.
What you pay: at checkout you ask for your plan to start right away. So if you withdraw, you pay only for the share of the billing period that has passed, and we refund the rest of your first payment to your original payment method within 14 days. Stripe emails you a receipt for the refund.
Renewals of the same subscription do not start a new withdrawal period.

Model withdrawal form. If you prefer, you can email this to us: "I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the BPMN Studio [Pro/Max] subscription, started on [date]. Name: [ ]. Account email: [ ]. Date: [ ]."

6. Refunds and faulty service

If the service does not work as described, email us and we will fix it or refund you. This is in addition to, not instead of, your statutory rights: under EU law, digital services must conform to the contract for the whole time they are supplied, and you keep every remedy that mandatory consumer law gives you.

7. Your content

You own what you put in and what comes out. Process descriptions you write, and the diagrams generated from them, are yours. We claim no ownership over them.

You grant us the limited licence needed to run the service: to store your content, transmit it to our AI provider to generate a response, and display it back to you and to anyone you share a project with. That licence ends when you delete the content.

We do not use your content to train models, and our AI provider does not either - see the Privacy Policy for the detail.

8. AI output - read this one

Diagrams are generated by a statistical model. They are frequently correct and occasionally wrong.

Verify before you rely on it. BPMN Studio output is a starting point, not a validated artefact. Do not deploy a generated diagram to a workflow engine, submit it as a compliance record, or make a business decision from it without a human reviewing it.
We make no warranty that generated BPMN is valid, complete, standards-conformant, or fit for any particular purpose, except where mandatory consumer law says otherwise.
Identical descriptions may produce different diagrams. That is inherent to the technology, not a defect.

9. Acceptable use

Do not:

Submit personal data about others, confidential information you are not entitled to share, or unlawful content
Attempt to access another user's account or data, probe or attack the infrastructure, or circumvent rate limits and plan quotas
Resell, sublicence or white-label the service, or use it to build a competing product
Automate access outside of normal interactive use, or scrape the service at scale

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section, with a refund of any unused prepaid period unless the breach was deliberate.

10. Availability

We aim to keep the service running but offer no uptime guarantee. It may be unavailable for maintenance, provider outages, or reasons outside our control. Generation depends on a third-party AI provider; if that provider is down, generation is down.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded - including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for consumers' statutory rights under mandatory local law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time in Settings → General → Delete account. Deleting the account cancels any paid plan immediately; outside the withdrawal period, the rest of the current month is not refunded. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms, or discontinue the service entirely with reasonable notice - in which case you can export your diagrams and receive a refund of any unused prepaid period.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new Last updated date and, where required, notified by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance; if you do not agree, you can cancel or delete your account.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, and disputes fall to the courts of Lithuania. If you are a consumer in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your own country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings there.

If you are a consumer, you can also bring a complaint to the State Consumer Rights Protection Authority of Lithuania (vvtat.lrv.lt), which handles out-of-court consumer disputes.
